Trying to tell you everything that happened during my and Markus trip to Florida would probably take way too looong time, so I decided to just give you the "highlights".

Before/during/after our trip to/in/from Florida I/we…

Me again.
House.
Hippo.
Rocket engine.
Aligators.
Silhouette.
Me.
  • had to pack our suitcase in pitch black, since our house lost electricity a few hours before we should leave.
  • rented a yellow car where cruise control was a standard feature, but not power windows or central lock.
  • had a funny looking mustache the whole week.
  • visited a drive-through safari park.
  • bathed in huge waves.
  • had different kinds of breakfast ranging from bread bought in a super market to a real American breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, pancaces with syrup and everything.
  • visited Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral and seen huge rockets, real launch pads and more.
  • spent a lot of time in our car.
  • eaten at the world's largest McDonalds.
  • seen an up-side-down pyramid (it was a shopping center).
  • visited lots of cities/towns.
  • driven through even more cities/towns.
  • spent a lot of money.
  • failed to find a motel with vacant rooms, which ment that we had to sleep in the car. Twice.
  • watched a hockey game between Florida Panthers and Washington Capitals.
  • been a part of the intermission entertainment after the first period; I, Markus and four other people played a three-on-three ice hockey game with seriously over-sized sticks on the ice in front of thousands of people.
  • been stuck in numerous traffic jams.
  • visited the huge national park called the Everglades.
  • seen lots of aligators.
  • learned at aligators have really small brains, and what you're supposed to do if you're stuck in the water with an aligator and can't get out of the water.
  • had an airboat ride (through a swamp with aligators).
  • had a python snake around my neck.
  • been to a Head Automatica concert plus three other bands.
  • again, found no motel and tried to sleep in a closed state park, but got chased out by a cop.
  • got lost with our car in a luxury house area.
  • swam at two different beaches in Miami, including the famous South Beach.
  • taken a lot of pictures (128 in fact, exactly what my memory card could hold).
  • flew to Atlanta, and then on to Seattle in first class, as a thank you for volonteering to stay in Atlanta if needed.
  • came home at about 2am totally exhausted, and slept till 2pm totally ignoring my [sleeping rules->Sleeping rules].

All in all, I think I can say that it has been a really fun but also intense week. Really glad I did it, but glad to be back home. :-)

Show this on a map.
